An expert lead consultant and project architect practice, spaceagency provides full architectural services. Our design approach is process driven rather than stylistic, often agile and unconventional with a strong sense of place and story telling as the common thread in all projects. Leadership

MICHAEL PATRONI_Director, F.A.I.A.

Michael founded spaceagency in 1984 and has since established the studio’s enduring commitment to architecture grounded in experience, place and thoughtful craftsmanship. Over the past four decades, he has guided the practice through a substantial and award-winning body of work, shaping a design culture defined by clarity, restraint and an appreciation for the poetic potential of built space. He provides the primary design direction of all projects and his deep understanding of construction, procurement and adaptive reuse continues to anchor the practice’s approach to complex and contextually sensitive projects.

Michael has contributed significantly to Western Australia’s architectural landscape across a wide range of scales and typologies. In 2023, he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, recognising his longstanding contribution to the profession.

DIMMITY WALKER_Director, F.A.I.A.

Since joining spaceagency in 1995, Dimmity has played a central role in the development of the practice. Her work is characterised by a considered and rigorous approach that balances conceptual ambition with technical clarity. She has contributed to many of the practice’s most recognised projects, guiding teams through all stages of design and delivery and reinforcing the practice’s commitment to project-specific, contextually responsive outcomes.

Dimmity is an engaged and respected member of the profession. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, has served on design juries, participated in public programs, and mentored emerging architects.

TOBIAS BUSCH_Director

Tobias joined spaceagency in 2012 and became a Director in 2024. He brings broad experience across multi-residential, hospitality, institutional and commercial projects, with particular expertise in integrating design technology and research-based methodologies into the studio’s processes. His work supports the practice’s commitment to design excellence through clear communication, collaborative project leadership and a focus on technical resolution.

Tobias is committed to advancing sustainable and community-oriented approaches to development. He leads Land in Common, the organisation establishing Western Australia’s first Community Land Trust, and has contributed to the profession through the AIA WA Sustainability Awards jury and the City of Fremantle’s Design Advisory Committee.
